Maurice Lavigne, C.Ac., QI, instructed a level 1 Qi Gong workshop in Shippagan, New Brunswick, in January 2008 with 16 highly motivated students. Maurice has been practicing Qi Gong for over 10 years - six years with Master Weizhao Wu of Toronto and for the last four years with Grandmaster T.K. Shih of Connecticut, USA. Maurice teaches a number of Tai Chi and Qi Gong styles. He is a certified Qi Gong instructor and Qi healer. Qi Healers Certificate Awarded Maurice Lavigne of Fredericton, NB (right in photo) recently became one of a handful of people in Canada to obtain certification as a Qi Healer from Qi Gong Grand Master and Doctor of Chinese Medicine, T.K. Shih.
Dr. T. K. Shih and his wife Dr. De-Ying Huang have been practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 40 years. They operate the Chinese Healing Arts Center in Danbury, Connecticut, USA, where Dr. Shih provides training in the ancient healing art of Qi Gong.
Maurice is a Registered Massage Therapist and Aikido teacher. He has been teaching Qi Gong for close to ten years.
Spring Aikido Workshop Aikido students from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia attended an Aikido workshop offered by two master instructors in June 2006 at the Fredericton Aikido Dojo. Massimo di Villadorata Sensei, 7th Dan from Montreal Aikikai, (left in photo) and Osamu Obata Sensei, 7th Dan, from Toronto's Japanese-Canadian Culture Center Dojo, (right in photo) offered a very enjoyable three days of hand-to-hand and weapons training. Lavigne Sensei Awarded 3rd Dan Aikido Black Belt
Maurice Lavigne Sensei of the Fredericton Aikido Dojo, left in picture, was recently awarded the 3rd Degree Black Belt Certification in the martial art of Aikido by Yoshimitsu Yamada Sensei, 8th Dan, right in picture. Yamada Sensei is a direct student of the founder of Aikido, chief instructor at the New York Aikikai and Chairman of the Board of the United States Aikido Federation and the Latin America Aikido Federation. With this grading, Lavigne Sensei, chief instructor at the Fredericton Aikido Dojo, has become the highest ranking Aikido instructor in New Brunswick, Canada.
Maurice Lavigne was one of only four students in North America to receive General Teaching Certificates recently from Master Weizhao Wu of Toronto after completing over six years of training in the Chinese Healing Art of Qi Gong. Master Wu has trained thousands of teachers in China in the arts of Qi Gong, Tai Chi and the Chinese Martial Arts. Master Wu is recognized as a Master of Qi Gong by the Chinese Qi Gong Talent Bank. Approximately 30 participants from Canada and the United States took part in the workshop. In the photo Master Wu leads students in an early morning practice on the deck of the Majesty of the Sea Cruise Ship in the port of Miami, Florida. Maurice Lavigne, Qi Gong instructor of Fredericton took part in the workshop. "It was awesome," Lavigne said. "The energy from the sea was like a fresh breeze flowing throughout the body. After a few days out at sea the Chi was omnipresent. And the training from master Wu was inspiring." |
